history
Ballinger "Bombers" FC was set up in the 2006-2007 season. We started with 23 players and have grown to 40 at the time of writing. The club was set up to ensure that all children had the opportunity to play football in matches regardless of ability. While we welcome girls to this male doniminated team, at present we only have two.
The club runs a number of teams and would love to expand this to under 6s, 7s and the like, but access to available flat land is restricting our growth. The club has been funded by the parents of the players and supported by fund raising evenings and sponsers.
In our first season as a club we came third in the South Bucks Min Soccer league, the following season the under 8s and under 10s swept the awards with both teams winning this title. This is what the club is all about.
While we put a huge amount on enjoyment, we are dictated by the kids as to the level of competitiveness that they bring into the teams. This, especially in the under 12s, is increasing, but at the kids pace, and we still encourage fair play at all costs.
